"30 percent of women on the continent are unable to have children..." I wasn't able to find the total Africa gender ratio to see just how many women this is, but the ratio by country is here. The point is - 30% of the female population of Africa being infertile is a big number, given that the entire African population is somewhere around 940 million people.

I was surprised by the number of women in Africa who are unable to have children, probably more because of my lack of knowledge in this area than anything else. In the US the number of infertile women is about 12 percent (7.3 million) which means women between 15-44 had difficulty getting pregnant or carrying a baby to term in 2002, according to the National Center for Health Statistics of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

There is no question that the inability to have children is devastating for many women, regardless of what country you are from. I don't have children yet, so I don't even know if this will be an issue for me and my husband, but of course its a possibility. The article says that for African women, infertility is especially a problem because "infertile women in Africa can face particular economic hardships — their husbands may leave them for other women and they can be cut out of family inheritances." Infertility itself is emotionally painful in many ways, besides the obvious pain of not being able to produce life. Without question women all over the World experience everything from torn marriages to abandonment from their families if they are infertile.

One other thing that crosses my mind in reading this article is the fact that so many Africans are suffering from HIV and AIDS, and wondering if the government should focus more on getting that issue under control and not try to tackle infertility at the same time (even though the article does point out that the fertility issue will take a back seat to other programs). Regardless, it appears that infertile African women are treated more harshly than in other western countries, "He said that in many parts of Africa women who are unable to have children become social outcasts, are labeled as witches, and in extreme cases, are even driven to suicide" So what is one to think about this entire situation?

There are a few thoughts that I think are important to remember as I read this article:

1. The World is Fallen - As Genesis 3 records, sin entered the world through Adam, Paul explicates further in Romans 5:12, "12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— " Because the world is fallen, we will all experience suffering and hardships in different ways (ultimately the fallen state of the world and creation as seen in death), and the inability to create life in one's womb is just one example of this fallen state of the world and humanity as a whole.

2.Humanity is Redeemed through Christ - Paul continues in Romans 5:17 to say, " 17 For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, (Adam) much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ." Humanity is under judgment because of the trespass of Adam, which allowed death to reign. But God sent Christ to be the sacrifice for our sins, and he defeated death through the resurrection. When we confess our sin, and accept the sacrifice and resurrection of Christ, we too can receive God's grace and redemption.

3. Promise of a new Creation- Isaiah speaks of a judgment and salvation which includes a new heaven and new earth which will be restored by God: Is 65:17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind." Those who have confessed their sins and accepted Jesus Christ and the truth of his death, burial, and resurrection, will share in this new heaven and new earth, a redeemed creation, with Christ.

4. The Gospel Redeems Culture - Because the world and humanity is fallen, that means that aspects of our culture are fallen as well. Sinful human beings living out their lives in various parts of the World are therefore a part of sinful cultural practices. As this article states, women in Africa often become outcasts and are labeled as witches if they cannot bear children. This clearly is not how God desires infertile women to be treated (or anyone for that matter), as all humanity is made in "the image of God" and is therefore valuable and precious to him. Thankfully the redemption of humanity through Christ and the promise of the new heavens and new earth apply to these sinful cultural practices as well.

If our hope is in people and in the "goodness" of the World, we will always be let down, discouraged, and in despair. The world and the people who populate it, including me, are sinful, and fallen. Therefore we must put our hope in Christ and on eternity, knowing that God is sovereign and in control of all things, (including our fertility) and that eternity with God in Heaven is the only place where we will no longer experience the devastating effects of sin and the fall.

Natalie Portman and Vegan Shoes

I am not really a supporter of the Vegan lifestyle, mainly because you miss out on so many important foods that your body needs in order to be healthy. Read more on the Weston A Price website about healthy diets.

However, I like Natalie Portman (maybe because is the one actress who has had hair as short as me and generally she seems to choose good movie roles) And I recently learned she started a vegan shoe line. Interesting.

So - I browse the site, and the shoes are adorable, BUT even just the sandals are $200 bucks! Crazy! I guess you have to be a hip green celebtrity to even afford them. We just had a great evening at church thanking all the community group leaders .(community groups are groups of people that are all connected to our church- Sojourn - or someone who goes there, and we get together and talk about our lives and share with eachother as we learn and grow closer to Christ!) The night was a blast! We got to watch some funny videos, eat some great food, and receive PRESENTS from the people in our community group! We got a LOVELY box filled with all sorts of beautiful stuff, napkins, basil oil, candles, and a wonderful gift certificate for dinner out to a bunch of spectacular restaurants in Louisville.

Sam, Riann, Reid, Kyra, Stacy, Michael, Maggye, Aaron, Nichole - THANK YOU! Some of the changes we have recently made are drinking whole milk from grass-fed cows (raw milk soon to follow) joined a CSA where we get fresh, local vegetables each week, meats from free-range chicken and cattle, and just generally staying away from processed foods. Oh - and the part everyone seems to think is weird, is a great intake of fats such as coconut oil (and supplements of Cod liver oil as well). We were generally leaning in this direction for the past two years, but have been very thankful that a local former-seminary student and founder of our local co -op, John, is helping us and many others learn how to be healthy for the glory of God. It's not just about us, its about the health of others as well and all the benefits that such a lifestyle offers. See the co-op link for more below.

I also have been very convicted lately (especially after a recent talk John did here at Southern for some friends and staff) on the amount of waste I generate, and the amount of products I consume - driven by the "American life" and consumerism. One video I saw that I would encourage you to watch also - is "the Story of Stuff". For christians this video should challenge us to evaluate how we consume the Earth's resources and whether or not we personally are buying in to a lifestyle and culture of consumption and waste, especially living in the United States. I know it's challenging me and while Michael and I are far from working out all the details of our life as it relates to these new thoughts, we are taking it one day at a time, desiring to glorify God in what we eat, drink, wear, and in general, every aspect of our lives, just as scripture commands. It was a blog in response to some comments by former Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. Today I received a new comment on that original blog, and I decided to start a new thread with that comment. The person who commented has a blog named "Seamstress" and they addressed several points I made in my original blog on Huckabee back in December. Below is a complete copy of the comment posted today by Seamstress, and my response.

Seamstress said...
"Christians believe that Jesus Christ has existed eternally, and was not created or born of a sexual relationship between God, and Mary, as the LDS church teaches" Jenny, I understand your claimed view to simply clarify what you believe are supposed LDS beliefs, but a silly comment like this is pure slander (not to mention a blatent lie). To imply that other churches (not even going to waste my time touching on the fact that mormons are christians in the purest sense of the term) solely believe that Christ has existed eternally and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has some sort of opposing view on the matter could not be further from the truth. Of course Christ was born physically of Mary(this not meaning born of a sexual relationship between Mary and God as the way you put it), but he existed eternally, not only as a spirit, but as a God. Find me a scripture of any of the LDS standard works and/or the bible that does not agree with this.

Aside from all of this, I do not understand why you don't see yourself as "attacking" this religion. Your tone and style of writing display such an obvious, subjective assault on a church that you clearly know little about and I see it as so disrespectful. You claim to be a pure christian, but where in any context is it expressed that pure christian spends his/her time putting down other and attempting to belittle religions (whether directly, or in your case, deceptively and indirectly)? I understand and respect that you believe that your beliefs are true and I have no problem with that. I too believe mine to be true, and see no need in spending my time putting down other religions with utter falsehoods and lies. It is one thing to express your own believes and why you hold them to be true, but if you believe in your religion, why not spend your time publishing that to the world and focusing your energies on that, rather than wasting time on another's beliefs.
March 10, 2008 6:16 PM

My response:
Seamstress – first – let me say thank you for your well thought - out comments. I would like to apologize if my words were not clear in my initial blog - which I am guessing to be true given some of the issues you have addressed. I always appreciate comments such as yours because they challenge me to be more clear in my arguments and statements. Let me begin by addressing the two issues you commented on:

First – the pre-existence of Christ. You are correct that LDS believe that Christ was pre-existent - but in the LDS definition, it is clear that he was really only pre-existent to an extent. "To an extent" meaning that Jesus is the eldest “spirit child” or son of heavenly father and mother. This means that heavenly father, (who had a physical body) also had a physical wife, (heavenly mother) and together they had “spirit children” of whom Jesus Christ is the oldest. Therefore in LDS doctrine at some point Christ did not exist eternally. He existed only after heavenly father and mother came together and conceived him. To my knowledge heavenly mother really isn’t spoken of and her union with heavenly father is assumed since Jesus is considered the oldest spirit child. In conclusion - in LDS teaching, Jesus Christ is not equal to the father because he came into existence at a later point, and therefore could not logically have been eternal, like the father.

The second issue you brought up is concerning the union of Heavenly Father and Mary. You stated that “Of course Christ was born physically of Mary(this not meaning born of a sexual relationship between Mary and God as the way you put it), but he existed eternally, not only as a spirit, but as a God." (emphasis mine).

I have already addressed your comment that Jesus Christ existed eternally and the different understandings of this statement between Christian and LDS teaching. Now I will address your comment that in LDS teaching Christ was not born out of a sexual relationship between Mary and Heavenly Father. I have included references and teachings from the LDS church that support my original statement that according to LDS teaching there was indeed a sexual union between heavenly father and Mary:

“The birth of the Saviour was as natural as are the births of our children; it was the result of natural action. He partook of flesh and blood--was begotten of his Father, as we were of our fathers (BY, JD 8:115).” Brigham Young

“When the Virgin Mary conceived the child Jesus, the Father had begotten him in his own likeness. He was not begotten by the Holy Ghost....” (BY, JD 1:50-51)

"[Jesus Christ] was willing to make payment because of his great love for mankind, and he was able to make payment because he lived a sinless life and because he was actually, literally, biologically the Son of God in the flesh" (Messages for Exaltation: Eternal Insights from the Book of Mormon, (Salt Lake City: Deseret Sunday School Union, 1967), pp. 378-379).

"God the Father became the literal father of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only person on earth to be born of a mortal mother and an immortal father." (Gospel Principles, 1997 ed., p. 57)
From the Family Home Evenings booklet, copyright 1972 by the Corporation of the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, pp. 125-126:

"We must come down to the simple fact that God Almighty was the Father of His Son Jesus Christ. Mary, the virgin girl, who had never known mortal man, was his mother. God by her begot his Son Jesus Christ, and he was born into the world with power and intelligence like that of His Father. . . . Now, my little friends, I will repeat again in words as simple as I can, and you talk to your parents about it, that God, the Eternal Father, is literally the father of Jesus Christ."(Joseph F. Smith, Box Elder Stake Conference Dec. 20, 1914 as quoted in Brigham City Box Elder News, 28 Jan. 1915, pp. 1-2).

"Then we have an almost stick-figure male identified as "Daddy," and another figure, female, identified as "Mommy." There is a plus between them, with lines leading down to a child figure, marked "You." Right below this we have the following diagram that has "Our Heavenly Father" where "Daddy" was, "Mary" where "Mommy" was, and "Jesus" where "You" was. We here provide scans of these drawings:"

The pictures above were used by the LDS church in their Home Bible Study and explain that similar to when mommy and daddy come together (sexual union) to create a child, so did Heavenly Father and Mary to create Jesus. Since the church taught and published this in their recommended home Bible study for families - I would assume that it is evidence of an accepted teaching of the LDS church. However, I am aware that in recent decades, this is issue is experiencing some controversy within the LDS church. Here are some links which further address the issue of the birth of Christ and source the above photos.
http://vintage.aomin.org/BEGOTTEN.html
http://www.mrm.org/topics/jesus-christ/redefining-virgin-birth-mormonisms-teaching-concerning-natural-conception-jesus

In short - these beliefs of the LDS church are contrary to the teachings Christianity. As I stated in my original blog, the Bible very clearly teaches that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have all eternally existed. This is one of the important teaching of the trinity, which is also denied by the LDS church.

Before I conclude, I would also like to take some time to respond to your statement that my blog and language clearly show that I am attacking the LDS faith – and also your question as to why I am “wasting time on another's beliefs.” As a christian, I desire that my interactions with all people to be respectful because I believe that all human beings are created in the image of God. Thus – I take time to carefully explain and defend my faith to others because I value other humna beings. I think it is important to address not only my faith - but also the faith of others because I value truth. I am compelled by my faith and the truth of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to speak out against what is false and untrue. This includes the doctrine of the LDS church.

On issues such as LDS doctrine above, I believe it is crucial for me to clearly explicate the differences between Christianity and the LDS church. I have addressed this issue not out of anger or an attacking heart, but out of my love and value of truth, and for people to be exposed to truth. I believe the teaching of the LDS church to be incorrect and false concerning the pre-existent nature of Jesus Christ and the sexual union between heavenly father and mother, and that others should be made aware of these false teachings. I realize this response may seem “mean” or “offensive” but there are respectful ways to firmly disagree on an issue - I hope that I have done just that. I also hope that my explanation of the very significant differences in the beliefs of the LDS church and the teachings of the Bible and Christianity will cause others to realize that the LDS church is clearly not Christian, as they do not hold to fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith, as outlined in the Bible.

These very contradictory teachings between the LDS church and Christianity further make me wonder why the LDS church has in recent decades begun to try and associate themselves with Christianity, especially since the LDS church was born out of a belief that all churches that existed at the time were not true. This is a completely different issue than the main focus of this post, and its one which I may address at a later time.

Please feel free to comment on anything I have said above- or to open any other issues concerning the LDS faith and Christianity that you may be interested in discussing. I hope that I have presented a clear explanation to your most recent response.

$10 eat out list UPDATED

Okay - here it is – the $10 eating list for Louisville (or close to it). REVISED AND UPDATED!!!

Basically it a listing of places Michael and I have found where you can eat for $10 or so. This doesn’t include tip or a drink, and we split the meal (so this doesn’t mean two meals for $5 each). Generally our rule is if we are hungry we will get more – but so far splitting has worked pretty well for us. Check it out – and please add comments if you know of other places so we can keep the list updated and going!

North End Cafe - Frankfort Ave -this one is now for sure a FAVE!!! For breakfast - order The Hearty Breakfast - and you can for sure split it! You get two pancakes, sausage, egg, bacon, toast, grits, and potatoes! Best of all - its gourmet breakfast and a wonderful environment (modern architecture mixed with old school brick louisville - lovely!) a bit of a wait on sundays but worth it! www.northendcafe.com

The Cafe - off broadway and vine (close to our house!) this was a part of the antique market and we have learned is a classic spot for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast get their french toast and a cinnamon roll for under $10 and relax with some coffee, for lunch do the #3, half sandwich and soup, with a side and a cookie - its great and nice lunch for two for about $8. www.thecafetogo.com

Impellizeri's Pizza - on Bardstown Rd. - $8.99 - Bambino small with cheese (has 8 slices and could be enough for four people if you weren’t super hungry) I like to splurge for an iced tea with extra ice - pizza and iced tea is a must (but unlike all my southern friends - I like it unsweet!)

Cafe Classico - Frankfort Ave - the environment is pretty quiet which can sometimes be akward - but a cup of tasty soup and a large tea (with a chocolate) is delicious and around $6. Seriously I had their apple cranberry tea on a cold day and I really loved it! It's not super filling -but sit at the bar, and enjoy your time with their great tea selection and fresh gourmet soups.

Cheesecake Factory by St. Matthews Mall- $9.99 - Lunch salad and pizza special - gigantic salad and pizza, or weekdays between 4-6 use bar menu, $3.99 a meal and you get bread – you’ll be full and spend about $9.00 for both meals. They have about 10 options on the bar menu – so it’s a great deal! Be aware - you will be practically forced to buy cheesecake - just say "no!"

Havana Rumba off of Shelbyville - $9.99 - Vaca Frita - so yummy and pretty much everything there you can split, they serve free bread too at dinner, and at lunch, the same menu is $2.00 cheaper. So we go and get the Vaca Frita for only $7.99 at lunch.

Lynn's Paradise Café off of Baxter - $9.99 - breakfast platter, has bacon, eggs, toast or biscuit, and potatoes - its a lot, and for like $2.00 more you can order a single pancake and both be stuffed!

Karma Café on Bardstown Rd. - $5.00 - called toast and eggs I think, (add potatoes , but that brings the total to $5.00), normally eggs and toast and bacon. You could order two of these meals and be right at $10.00, this is a rare exception where you are under $10 but don't have to split.

EL Mundo on Frankfort- $10.00 - three taco meal, comes with rice and beans, I think it could have gone up - but its a great place if you sit up stairs at night – or at lunch – try their lunch specials. They are around $6.99 and you get rice and beans, plus a drink included. We still split the lunch special and are fine.

Shiraz on Frnakfort- $10.00 - order chicken kabobs and side of hummus with extra bread. Split kabob and each get 2 pitas - and we always have tons of hummus left over too!

Café Lou Lou on Shelbyville (this one is from Kasey – thanks!) We had a huge turkey sandwich with pasta salad for $10.00 I believe and it was huge portions definitely enough for two people. You should try it sometime. The Turkey sandwich was wonderful with spinach, and hummus, provolone, avocado, green sprouts, etc.—Delicious to say the least!! www.cafeloulou.com

Religions of Man

Michael started a seperate blog on Religions of Man. It was pretty fun and neat to be a part of. I would write more - but you can read about it below and listen to us on the radio program (I was on for just a few lines - but how neat!?) I was able to share about the many preachers out there who preach love, hope, and encouragement, but they never actually talk about sin and the true Gospel, the message of Jesus Christ, when they preach. Check it out:

Listen to it here:

http://www.npr.org/templates/player/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=19288767&m=19346615

Emily's beautiful pics

My friend Emily is a wonderful photographer - check out some pics she took at our Saturday morning book study (Christian Beliefs by Grudem is what we are working through)...
Here is her flikr account if you want to see more:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/emilysailor/

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5171820576225507346" style="DISPLAY: block; Its just hard when life is busy with work and school - not to mention having only one computer and a husband who uses it most of the time (don't worry dear, I know you are working on it!!!)

So - here are some pics and recap from this weekend - its a start.

Saturday we had a great night hanging with friends in our community group from church at Quills Coffee and Books. We even made some new friends (Chris and Jill and Christian and Gentry). Good times were had by all and I must say, I don't think I was that competitive.....! I also took some pics of Michael before everyone got there - check em out....

Here are some pics from our night filled with CatchPhrase, Cranium, and yes Taboo!!!

The $10 Eat out List

Okay - here it is – the $10 eating list for Louisville (or close to it).

Impellizeri's Pizza on Bardstown Rd. - $8.99 - Bambino small with cheese (has 8 slices and could be enough for four people if you weren’t super hungry)

They have about 10 options on the bar menu – so it’s a great deal.

You could order two of these and be right at $10.00

The same old pose

It has become quite apparent that I, (Jenny) have a pose problem. Yes, its true, my signature - hand - on -the -hip pose is all I know (and love). It's trustworthy, reliable, and produces a consistently predictable good picture. However, I must find something new, before every single one of my pics with my adorable husband ends up looking like I used clip-art to simply add new outfits to the same old me. Michael and I heard one news anchor on Good Morning America say that it was simply “absolutely untrue” and then the anchor criticized Huckabee for his comment.

To begin – no one took the time to understand the context in which the question was raised –which Huckabee clarified in an interview. He was being asked about Mormonism, and Christianity by the interviewer, Zev Chafets, a noted author and columnist. Huckabee responded that he didn’t know much about Mormonism, and then asked the question to the interviewer (who has knowledge in various areas of other religions), “Don’t Mormons believe that Satan and Jesus are brothers?”. Of course – the entire situation ended up being a bigger story than it should have been.

The interesting part – is ROMNEY’s response to the question of whether Jesus and Satan are brothers according to LDS doctrine:

On NBC's "Today" show, Romney said "attacking someone's religion is really going too far." http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/12/12/politics/main3612914.shtml

Attacking someone’s religion!? It seems that asking a question shouldn't be considered attacking the LDS faith. (which by the way – is true if anyone had bothered to research it) It almost appears as if Romney had no idea this was actually true….

This recent reference is a good one on the LDS teaching of this Jesus/Satan Relationship:

"On first hearing, the doctrine that Lucifer and our Lord, Jesus Christ, are brothers may seem surprising to some – especially to those unacquainted with latter-day revelations," says the statement. "But both the scriptures and the prophets affirm that Jesus Christ and Lucifer are indeed offspring of our Heavenly Father and, therefore, spirit brothers. Jesus Christ was with the Father from the beginning. Lucifer, too, was an angel "who was in authority in the presence of God," a "son of the morning." (See Isa. 14:12; D&C 76:25–27.) Both Jesus and Lucifer were strong leaders with great knowledge and influence. But as the Firstborn of the Father, Jesus was Lucifer's older brother. (See Col. 1:15; D&C 93:21.)"
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59168

I think Huckabee has done a good job leaving questions of LDS doctrine up to the Mormons to respond to. It seems every time he is interviewed heis asked questions about the LDS church – and he always refers the interviewer to talk to Mormons themselves for the answer. I think Huckabee learned a valuable lesson about where some of the media’s interests lie in puffing up stories and pitting him against Romney since Huckabee is a Christian. Lesson well learned for Huckabee – and hopefully well learned for the news anchors and other critics who responded – incorrectly – about the LDS teaching that Jesus and Satan are brothers.

It would also be important for me to note that this is one reason why the LDS are not Christians; their doctrine on the nature of Jesus Christ is completely different that what the Bible teaches and this is a great example.

Christians believe that Jesus Christ has existed eternally, and was not created or born of a sexual relationship between God, and Mary, as the LDS church teaches.

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." NIV

John 10:30 "The Father and I are one." NLT

John 17:5 "And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." KJV

There are several examples in LDS teaching on this topic besides the statement from the church itself above – here are two:

Two of our brothers offered to help. Our oldest brother, Jesus Christ . . . said, “Here am I send me” . . . Satan, who was called Lucifer, also came, saying, “Behold, here am I, send me . . .” After hearing both sons speak, Heavenly Father said, “I will send the first” (Abraham 3:27). Gospel Principles, 1997 Edition, Pages 17-18.

“Who will redeem the earth, who will go forth and make the sacrifice for the earth and all things it contains?” The eldest son said: “Here am I;” but he did not say “send me.” But the second one, which was “Lucifer, son of the morning,” said, “Lord, here am I, send me, I will redeem every son and daughter of Adam and Eve that lives on the earth, or that ever goes on the earth.” “But,” says the Father, “that will not answer at all. I give each and every individual his agency; all must use that in order to gain exaltation in my kingdom; inasmuch as they have the power of choice they must exercise that power. Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Volume 13, Page 282.

Two very opposing views on the relationship and nature of Jesus Christ. Take note of this the next time someone tries to say that LDS are Christians. Why they even bother wanting to be called Christians when initially their focus was that Christianity was not the one true church is another blog itself…

AZ for XMAS

So - we are getting ready and we are excited to head back to AZ for the holidays! I think so! How often do I call my dad - well, I call him everyday but I think he screens my phone calls because usually I talk waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy too fast and too long! Just kidding, hopefully he doesn't do that! These are pics from mom's visit this past July (she visited in January last year also) we went to Lexington, and lets just say next time she comes I think we are going to Chicago - Lexington was a little low on the "fun cities to visit" list. Thankfully, my mom is like a party in a single person, so we always have a blast with her wherever we go!

Another one of me and mom at the Shaker Village....

Michael took this one - he's a budding photographer....

Mom and me at Jack Fry's = yummy!

Pics from Thanksgiving in NYC

Well we had just the best Thanksgiving ever with my Dad, Kim, Alex, Taylor, Nicole, and the Gill side of the family in Maryland and New York! Who knew that elaborate church programs and watering down the Gospel would lead to "baby" christians? I am being facetious of course (is that even the correct spelling?) To be honest, I would probably have gone down this same path with the mentality of a "seeker sensitive" view on Christianity if it weren't for God's grace and direction in my life, I was certainly leading in that direction in early college right after becoming a Christian. Hopefully Hybels acknowledgement of what happened at Willowcreek will be a lesson for all Christians -the most important ways to cultivate a relationship with God haven't changed. It's all about the Gospel: Christ should be the center of everything.
